Whisky #33: Glenburgie 8yo

One of those back-of-the-cupboard Gordon & McPhail miniatures that was bought on a whim and never struggled to the front of the cabinet. Until now.

This Glenburgie has a curious orange body, fading notes of old peel and polish to the nose; the damp, bitter honeyed taste carries a rather sickly stickiness akin to when a Locket cough sweet splits open between your teeth.

For me, the redeeming feature is that the finish is mercifully short. More tired than tangy.

It plays a role in the great balancing act that is Teacher's, but out on its own it's rather muted and underwhelming.
