Whisky #31: Tamnavulin 12yo
New year, new resolution, new whiskies to try.
First out the cupboard is the Tamnavulin. And it's gentle stuff; body of deep straw with a glossy shine, a light aroma of old marzipan was a little disconcerting, some herbals in there but only very faint. More old fruit cake tin in the flavour (old fruit, that is, not old tin).
Slight sweet finish tempered with a little floral tingling.
To be honest, it's not my kind of malt. A little insubstantial all round.
