Whisky #8: Tomatin 10yo

Aroma has a stewed raisin and slightly medicinal quality

A rounded matly sweetness, underbelly of licquorice? Pepperiness sets off small fires in your mouth, the wisp of smoke lifts quickly.

I can see why this has been used a great deal for blends; it's got a solid base. I'd recommend it to any one looking to try a single malt for the first time.
